I forgot my UAN number. How do I recover it?

  1. Your employer will definitely have your UAN. You can always approach your HR of the organization to know your UAN number.
  2. UAN number is also mentioned in your payslips. So check once for the UAN number in your payslips issued by the HR. Note that UAN number is different from PF account number. Do not enter your PF number on the UAN site. UAN is a 12 digit number.
  3. If the company fails to provide you with UAN number, you can always check for it online. EPFO has a database of your account details. It is important that you have already logged into EPFO with your account previously and activated your account.
  4. Despite all the above efforts, if you are unable to recover your UAN, you can always get help online. To recover your UAN online, follow the below-mentioned steps.
